LPS offers several pathways for students to earn college credit while in high school. LPS has partnered with both Collin College and the University of North Texas to provide students with different dual credit options including the Lions Collegiate Academy. Courses may be offered at the home campus and other dual credit courses require students to provide their own transportation to the college or university site.

About Dual Credit Programs
Dual credit courses are taught and graded by college or university professors. The grades earned from dual credit courses will be posted on both the student’s college transcript and the high school transcript. There are tuition fees associated with dual credit courses that vary depending on the university or college.

Benefits
There are numerous benefits to taking dual credit courses. Students who participate in challenging curriculum while in high school graduate prepared to pursue their post-secondary goals. Completing dual credit courses can allow students to earn a bachelors or associates degree faster, which would allow students to save money in college tuition. Dual credit from both Collin College and the University of North Texas can transfer to most public universities in Texas.
